Tire question. Will a 215 fit an 8.5" wide wheel?

it'll fit ...
just barely... it may look a bit awkward, since the tire will be so streched on this rim. Plus, your rim will be subject to easy damage/curb rash as the tire is not wide enough to offer any protection.

As QP said, it will- the spec for that is Rim Width Range from 7.0" to 8.50" wide.
It WILL look stretched on the sidewall. For an A4 i suggest a 225/40R18- more common size for better selection & much better mounted 'look' to them.

Cause I rub with a 225.
Rather then sell my BBSs, if I replace the Michelins with either something with a more squared profile, or something with a narrower tread, the rubbing might resolve itself (with a little help).

Rolled fender in the front yes, in the back no.
The tires, under extreme driving conditions, touches the rear liner. Adding spacers would move the wheels the wrong way. Quattros don't rub but FrontTrak does.
