solid advise on tiring sizong please
I have been reading a bunch of older posts in regards to tire sizes. I am looking for some solid advise as to what to do next.... Here is the dilema I am having. Any advise is appreciated.....
Currently I have the Intrax springs with Koni shocks and struts. I also just installed new rims and tires(AT Italia Flash 18x8 with pilot sport 245/40 18's )... Every time I hit a divot or dip in the road the tires rub... Is this a suspension problem or tires or both? Do you think the H&R coilovers will solve the tire rubbing problem? Other than buing new tires what would solve the problem! Any advise is appreciated. Thanks.
If nothing helps then I must sell them for a loss??? :-(.. So please pass this along to anyone you think would be interested in these tires. I would greatly appreciate the help in unloading them so i can offset some of my loss.

Also, you could have the fenders rolled. That would help alleviate the rubbing there.
If your tires are rubbing on the inside, say on the tie-rod ends, then you need spacers to move the wheels out farther. Of course, that pushes the tires closer to the fenders.... starts the cycle all over!
I run 235/40-18 on 18x8 BBS VZ with an ET37 and I have a few rubs on the fenders. I'll be rolling the fenders as soon as I can get to Rob Andrews and his fender roller.
Hope that helps,
PeteH
Depending on which side you're rubbing (outer or inner), you'll either need to roll fenders or install wheel spacers, or possibly both.
You should consider the costs of doing that vs. getting the right size tires (225/40).
