Have stock RE040's, anything I can get that will reduce the horrible tramlining?
Should I be looking at a different rim/tire size if I really want to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance.
2. Try buying tires that do not have a continuous strip of rubber going all the way round. Not sure if RE040s have it or not.
3. As far as I know, once you get into 225-width, most (if not all) summer tires tramline a bit. My S-03s tramline, but only at very low speeds. Once I go above 30 mph, there's no problem, but just to be on the safe side, I always keep a firm grip on the steering wheel.
4. If all else fails, buy some cheap all-season rubber. With the limited grip they have, the tramlining will be less pronounced as well ;-)
I don't know why, but I don't notice my car tramline any more. I only noticed it the first 500-1000 miles or so. Either I got used to it or it went away. Weird.
