Anyone else heard "SSR" and "bankruptcy" in the same sentence recently?

Rumor was that Speed Star Co. and its subsidiary, Speed Star Sales filed
a voluntary bankrupcty petition on about January 27, 2005 in the bankruptcy court in Osaka prefecture, Japan, citing about USD60 million in debts, and blaming foreign competition and below cost sales as the reasons. I don't know anything about Japanese bankruptcy procedures, but if they are anything like those in the US, the filing of the petition by no means means the end of the company. They may be undergoing a reorganization, which could include a sale to another company, as Gary suggests. BTW, are you the CP from the ski forums?
