All Season tires for a 2003 A4 3.0 Q
1. Sumitomo HTR+
2. Kumho ECSTA ASX
3. Yokohama Avid H4S
4. Continental ContiExtremeContact
My lease is not up until September of 2006 so I need something that will last beyond that. I had Yokohama's on my 19 1.8t and I was pretty happy with them. I am leaning twards the Kumho beause they seem to have good ratings as was as a best seller on Tire rack.
I need all seasons since I live in NJ and have another winter to get through with the next tires. I don't want to spend a lot since it is a leased vehicle.
Just wanted to see what you think of the above.
These tires are my worst nightmare! A perfectly designed tire to not work with the A4 3.0Q! They are extremely harsh riding. Feel every tar strip and pebble. They are very noisy, and worst of all wander back and forth over the semibumpy roads here in northeastern PA. Yes I also had the car aligned with very little wandering improvement. I'm going to scrap these tires at 3500 miles and buy the Michelin A/S. The Contis are the next choice. I hope I hleped. Search on AudiJunkie and you will see he had horror with the Falkens.
- I have a 1.8TQ '03, came with Pirelli PZero Rosso Asimmetrico 235/45-17, stock sport package wheels, Southern California. They lasted up to 30k, about 50/50 freeway/street driving, mostly normal, sometimes spirited driving style. Excellent tires, very good grip dry/wet, very noisy though.
My first replacement choice was Pirelli PZerro Nero M+S, not in stock when I needed them, ContiExtreme also out of stock, so it was Kumho due to other reviews on TR, and of course, price.
After some 1,200M, I can say they are really close in performance to the Pirellis I had. Good grip on dry/wet, they feel slightly softer than the Pirellis. Still precise cornering, and much more quieter than the Pirellis, although not very quiet. So far I would say excellent value for the money.
