205/55-16 to 225/50-16 on Audi A4 1998 with stock rims?
I was thinking of switching the tires on my car to the new Goodyear Triple Tread in the 225/50-16 size on my A4 Avant as the 225/50-16 has a better service rating for both weight and speed. I also like the thought of going slightly wider on the tire. I have stock 16" rims and am not sure of the width. Can't afford new rims at this time. Anyone else know if the OEM option 16" rim for the A4 of 1998 is 7" or 7.5" or if they can moot the question if the 225/50-16 size is a good fit on a 7" or 7.5" rim? I wouldn't think that going from a 205 to 225 would cause any rubbing, but if anyone knows for sure that information would be appreciated as well.
225/50-16 = 8.86 * .50 = 4.43 + 16 = 20.43

205/55-16 = 8.07 * .55 = 4.44 + 16 = 20.44

So otherwise should be a perfect fit (unless I calculated wrong)
