anyone running asa ar1's on a b5 s4 .. stock calipers.. thnx
For the most part, inexpensive gravity-cast wheels are only moderately durable and New England roads make them wobble from impacts. You are forced to think of them as disposable.- which is dicouraging... hmmm... this never happened with 15" wheels in the '70's and '80's - despite lower quality production techniques. The New England roads are why the new five 18" OEM wheels/tires from my '04 A6 sit in my garage awaiting a home for someone in the land of smooth roads.
Which is a long-winded wind-up for my admiration for the ASA AR-1's. I bought them as winter wheels for my snow tires and loved them so much a second set was invited to stay for the summer! They remained true, the finish was excellent and the lip had a nice "dished" look for our fwd/awd cars -sorta reduced the BMW envy of the rear drive, reduced offset wheels.
Cheers,
Eric
