Default Running different tires front and back, okay??

I have two Michelin PS2 from last season in very good shape. I am looking to get track and autocross tires. my question is if I run the PS2's in the rear and buy a different tire make, same size, for the front will it be bad for the car, wheels, etc? I just can't see spending another 400+ for two tires that are going to be used for track and autocross.
thanks

Default two things to consider:

Running tires that have more than 2/16ths of an inch difference in tread depth could harm the quattro.
Also, it will change the handling of your car, possibly making it handle less predictably.

Default For track and autocross?? Use all same 4 tires.

Get some Falken Azenis Sports if you want to save money. They'll do well on track and autocross.

How are those tires for the street? I would like to have wheels I can drive on to events and then change back to my street tires once I am home.
thanks

They're fine on the street. If they're bald and it's raining, watch out (same with every other tire
