Default So...No more Pirelli PZero Nero Summer tires @ TR....how do the M&S versions compare?

Is this just a TR thing or did Pirelli discontinue them?

Love my current tires...but even when new they had a tendancy to hydroplane more than OEM Michelin Pilot Primacy's or the Dunlop SP8000E's that I had on my B5.

Now that my car is nearing old age, currently w/ 60k, I wouldnt mind moving down to an all season tire. I dont think it's worth the investment to burn out 4 tires every 20k miles on this particular car. I still have a set of Dunlop Wintersport M3's with only one season on them, so I'll still mount them next winter, but I will need new tires at some point soon to replace my Pirelli's.

What are some other good options: 235/45/17....and just how will they do in the winter weather of Philly?

Love the Dunlop M3's performed as good as an all season tire....no need to get Q rated tires again imo.

The Nero summer is phasing out in North America, reserved for Europe now. Comparable tires to the summer version of the Nero &lt;or better&gt; worth considering are the Goodyear GSD3, Michelin PS2, among others. These won't work in snow, of course. The Nero M+S is a noticable step down in dry handling and steering response from a Max Performance tire but may be worth considering if you're willing to sacrifice some handling/dry grip for longer wear, softer ride, and some light snow capability.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR8&amp;url=/tires/index.jsp">Tires</a></li></ul>

Default Damn....I really loved the Nero's.

<i>"The Nero M+S is a noticable step down in dry handling and steering response "</i>

Which all season tires would you look to for best overall performance? Given that 20-25k miles is the max that I've ever been able to keep my summers...how much of a treadlife would I be gaining by going to an all season? My summer Nero's are starting their 3rd season now and I know wont last.

Also the other 2 summer tires you listed are a bit more than I would like to spend on rubber.

For all seasons I like the Nero M+S for dry grip near &lt;but still noticably less&gt; a summer tire. Most see about 5K-10K more out of the A/S tires roughly.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR8&amp;url=/tires/index.jsp">Tires</a></li></ul>

Default Doesn't quite seem worth the tradeoff....

for 5k-10k miles.

What do you think about the Dunlop 9000 &amp; 9090's? How do they stack up vs newer competition?

What do you make out of the 9000's 280 UTGC rating? Seems very high for a summer tire.
