How long do Michelin Pilot Sport A/S last?

How long do Michelin Pilot Sport A/S last?

I have about 20k on them and it looks like I should be down at the wear markers in about 5K or so. Is this normal?

Average has been 25K-35K.

Also keep in mind that the last few 32nds of tread tend to wear longer than the first half of the tread since there is less tread squirm. This makes predicting how many miles are 'left' in a tire extremely difficult.

Question on that. Isn't the compound softer as you get further down?

Not on this tire, Michelin states that they run the same tread compound as the tire wears. A few Bridgestone tires have a multilayer compound.

I've gotta say...haven't been that impressed with this tire. I mean it's a nice tire, wears evenly, but surely it isn't worth the $220 a piece.
