Gary: GY Eagle F1 GS-D3 or Mich PS2?
Gary, any thoughts? I've got two bubbles on my OEM Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s, and I am debating between replacing with the same kind or Goodyear F1 G3-D3.
My only concern with the Goodyears are that they appear to be 91Y load rated, whereas my the OEMs on my 2005.5 S4 are 95Y. Is 91Y enough? Any other thoughts?
Also, my spare is a full tread PS2. So I guess I could just get three PS2s, and switch one of the non-bubbled tires to spare, but I'm not sure if the tread pattern, diameter, or anything else has changed in the last 15 months that I've owned the car that would mess up that plan.

The PS2 has a bit faster steering response and slightly more dry grip, while the GSD3 has a bit softer ride. I agree wholeheartedly with this. When I went to replace my tires the PS2s were out of stock so I went Eagle. I miss the steering response but I have to agree the ride is better and the wet performance is incredible.

Yea, but not by much, unless they last longer than the 12,000 I got out of the G'Yrs..
First set of F1 GS-D3's lasted 9,000 miles but I was out of alignment so somewhat self induced.
Second set lasted 12,000 miles and I was at 3/32. And the car had been aligned properly just before mounting the tires.
Toyos have 5,000 on them so far and am still at 8/32 so I expect to get 15000-18000 on them. So even given similar price, I'm getting 50% better life on these.

I definately agree with the T1-r being a great choice in tread life and price wise.

Love my GY F1 GS-D3's. Simply put, they're amazing. No experience with PS2's to compare.
I will say though that GS-D3's are *much* better than the old Pilot Sports, which were the original tires on my S4.
