Anyone know what can happen from cracks in tires?
I know it's not good to get dried out and cracked tires, but how dangerous is it? I wish I had a picture, but it's my brother's car.
Gary - if you're reading this - I looked for info about this on tirerack, but couldn't find anything. Is there a link you could give me?

Ahhhhh! Do not use Armorall. It contains silicone which will eat tires.
Check out Detailer's Paradise (forum sponsor -- I do NOT work for them, just like 'em) for some good tire dressing that will not further harm your tires.

It has worked wonders on my cars and tires. It has restored many tires on used cars that I bought - and prevented many dashes from cracking (from the days before UV protection was built into the plastics.)
Silicon is used in tire manufacturing process too - It gives tires better rolling resistance<ul><li><a href="http://www.armorall.com/prod_protectant.html">Link</a></li></ul>

Also, I've had good results with Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel.
The problem I observed with ArmorAll was that it's OK while you keep using it regularly. But once you stop, the sidewalls start cracking.
If your sidewalls are already cracked, I guess you don't have much to lose with ArmorAll.

May eventually end up as a flat tire
Had a set of Pirellis on my old car that did that. Walked out to the car one day from work and found a flat. Worst case could result in a blowout. Get them replaced. If they are relatively new they may still be under warranty.
