Gary - what do you think of Goodyear using carbon fiber for the sidewalls?

Great question.
I'm guessing its more of a marketing thing that acutally functional. Carbon has incredible tensile strength, which is normally why CF is used in high-tech applications. Not sure how that would help in sidewalls.

No idea on that one... although Pats comment sounds in line with past experience.
However I'll admit to being a skeptic and normally don't trust marketing or touted constuctions methods as selling points on tires. Unless I can feel the difference in driving or see the difference in test numbers, I'm usually not convinced of a given benefit or material.
