Seeking to replace my Nitto NT555 Extreme tires

So I bought a set of 19" Stern wheels from a local fella and he fitted the wheels with Nitto NT555 tires. How good are these tires? What would be a better replacement tire?

I've had mine on for about 15k miles now...in my opinion, no better tire for the price!

They wear good, low noise, and nice ride. Relatively good dry grip and great for wet roads.

Wow, that's saying something. What other tires have you tried that are comparable in price?

yup, they should last another 5k. Unfortunately I don't have much to compare to, but...

i actually liked the ride quality and handling better than the OEM 17" ContiSport tires. Also, my brother switched to the NT555 after using both the Falken ST-115 and BFG KDWs.

I was sold on the Nitto's since I've had other Nitto tires before, plus the NT555 has one of the widest contact patches in its category...not to mention RENNtech uses them on its tuner cars!

ummm.

I don't mean to be an ***, A4_Jax, but if you're going to tell people there's no better tire for the price, it'd be good to have driven at least one or two other tires in its class, let alone all of its competition.
I was surprised to hear you praise the tires so much, knowing their have been significant andvancments in tire technology since they were developed seven (?) years ago.
I have no doubt they're good tires, but c'mon...

I'm no tire expert. When i say no better for the price...

most of the other tires at that price are brands like Sumitomo and crap. To me, it's a subjective thing, because I prefer something with a higher treadwear and low noise. Also, I can compare them to the Falkens and BFG's because I've rode on them in my brother's car. The Falkens have very good wet grip, relatively quiet, but weren't too good for dry grip. The KDWs seemed to have very good dry grip, but were noisy. There are better tires out there, but you'd be paying more than $200/tire for them! You're right, they have been out on the market for quite a while...the design has changed very little since its introduction.

If I had to do it all over again, I may go with the newer tires, but I still would keep these in mind.
