Dunlop SP Sport MAXX - How wide do they run?
I have a set of 225/45/17 Goodyear F1-GSD3's that are at the end of their lifespan. Using 17x8 OZ SLs on a B5S4.
I was wondering how wide does the SP Sport MAXX run compared to the F1-GSD3's. Would it be possible to run a 235/40/17 on it?

Not sure, Jeff. But....
...I have a pretty low B5 A4 with the same wheels on it as you. I use 235/45-17 Kumho SPTs and they fit. Keep in mind I have rolled fenders.
Also, I have RA-1s on 17" x 7.5" wheels that are 235/40-17s and they work just fine. If I had to guess, I'd think the RA-1 are wider than the Dunlops in question.
