Gary: Advice on what to do while waiting for new tires
Wondering if it will do more harm running the brand new spare tire on front right while front left tire is worn fairly significantly in the meantime, or if I should take my chances with a tire thats missing inside tread? I need to drive to Baltimore and back at least once (about 80 miles RT) before new tires go on.
Rear's have about 5 or 6/32" tread but have worn much more evenly. Front left (drivers) has about 4/32" in the center with more wear on edges and front left (passengers) has about 4/32" in the center but with worn outside and completely bald/missing inside edge. All my measurements are pretty rough as I don't have a depth gauge and instead marked on a coin and measured afterwards. I'd feel safer with a new tire on the front right, but don't want to do any serious harm to the car.

See this post for discussion and pics

I would not recommend running on a tire that is missing part of its tread.
