Wheel Noise

I have a scraping noise on my front right wheel on my 2004 Audi A4 quattro. I have had the wheel bearing replaced and suspension taken apart and put back together. The service department is stating that the tires need to be replaced because they are worn down too much and this could be making the noise. It sounds like the rotors and brake pads are scraping everytime the wheel turns, but those were checked and not causing the problem. The noise only happens when under 10 MPH and when braking. Anyone else experience this problem or have any idea what it could be?

what happens when you tap the brakes at 10mph - does the sound go away?

If the caliper pins are tarnished or corroded - it will cause the pads to stick

have you worked on the brakes recently?

something similar happened to me, the shop i took my car to to replace cv boot didnt tighten the bolts holding the brake caliper on, so the rotor would be pulling the brake caliper everytime i hit the brakes... sounds possible...
