paging Gary

99 A6 FWD need to replace Toyo Proxes 4's. The Toyos have been a good tire and I got 40,000 out of em.

The leading contenders are:

Yokohama AVID TRZ
General Altimax HP
Dunlop SP Sport Signature
Pirelli PZero Nero M&S

I'm looking for a comfortable tire that handles well, and has good treadlife.

Of thes it sounds like the Sport Signature or Altimax HP will be the most similar to the Toyos that you had before. The Yoko TRZ would wear longer, but would also be a step down in dry handling/corning. Just the opposit with the Nero M+S... less wear (closer to 30K) but a very sporty tire in terms of dry grip and cornering. We don't have a lot of feedback yet on the Dunlop or General, but it appears that the General should have a little better wet traction, but may be a bit louder.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR8&url=/tires/index.jsp">Tires</a></li></ul>
