Default Hello Gary, I am looking at your tires....235/40-18's

I have narrowed my selection to the following:
Conti sport contact 3
Goodrich g-Force super sport A/S

The review of each make them sound very similar.
Question: Is the Goodrich just aggressively priced or is the Conti 3 a superior tire? and is the Conti XL tire really better to the non XL type Conti, in terms of stability, or is it just a load rating?

I drive spirited and have a upgraded suspension on my TT.
Any suggestions on tire deals that are similar to the ones noted above are welcome.
thanks, MD

Default One is a summer tire, the other is an all-season. Which one do you need?

If you're not going to be driving it in snow or freezing temps, then get a summer tire - it'll have better dry grip and handling.

Default we get some rain in socal

but the conti sure reads like a good weather beater too...."The continuous circumferential tread grooves help disperse water to resist hydroplaning and their asymmetrically angled walls further stabilize the tread ribs, increasing steering precision and reducing deformation while cornering. The notched shoulder blocks on the inboard portion enhance wet weather traction."

Default If you ever need to drive when it's below 40-45 degrees (wet or dry) than get all-seasons

But other than that summer tires will be better in every aspect.

Default The Contact 3 would make sense for your conditions.

Outstanding tire for your area, great wet and dry grip with good ride characteristics.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR8&amp;url=/tires/index.jsp">tires</a></li></ul>

Default gotcha: I need 91's min but does installing, say, 96's, would

that result in a rougher ride? Obvious, it is more that what my car needs but just curious has to how it would perform, and does that translate to longer lasting thread life?
