How much better in the dry is "extreme" performance tires than
"max" performance tires. "Extreme" perf. is a new category above "max" perf. Will RE-01R (extreme category) perform much better in the summer than say max perf. tires such as RE050A or Pilot PS2 ?

Noticable improvement, yes.
I'd say it is just as large of a step up in Dry grip as moving from a 'regular' ultra high performance tire to a max performance tire.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR8&url=/tires/index.jsp">Tires</a></li></ul>
