Gary and others--tires for '02 S6, Michelin PS2 vs. Potenza RE050A PP?
I've done lots of looking in the archives and on the Tire Rack site about the differences between the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 and the Bridgestone Potenza RE 050A Pole Position, but I'm having trouble making a decision.
I have the Michelin PS2s on my S6 now. They're good and sticky; they wear quickly (that's life); and I lost two to sidewall bubbles from potholes (that's also life). This is for Northern California--some rain, never cold, and I have another set of wheels and tires in the garage for snow. Maximum stickiness is what I want. I see occasional comments that the Bridgestone is twitchy or noisy, but others don't seem to feel that way. I'd like to save the $65 per tire by going Bridgestone, but not if I'll wind up wishing I'd kept the PS2s.
Any thoughts or comments appreciated. Thanks!
