Another question for Gary on RS6 tires

Regarding my 2003 RS6:

I'm trying to decide between putting summer tires on the OEM 18" wheels, or getting 19" wheels. I'd like to run Michelin PS2s.

The RS6 requires an XL load rating. The 19" PS2s have it, the 18" in OEM size do not. (On the TireRack website, the PS2s don't even come up when searching by model.) However, the 18" show a service description of 99Y. Can I safely run the 18" PS2s without the XL rating, and would my local tire shop even mount them?

Also, in the 19" size, three different PS2 listings come up, with slight variations in price and availability. Why is that?

Yes, even though our site doesn't indicate that the 255/40R18 PS2 is XL, it is indeed an XL tire and works well on this vehicle.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR8&url=/tires/index.jsp">Tires</a></li></ul>
