Bent rim questions?
This morning, I took it a reputable place listed in Tirerack and they found one rim slightly bent.
It looks like a 1/8th of an inch up/down movement on the inside of the rim, when he showed me.
He said the balancer wanted 150g of weight to correct. He ended up getting it to run with very little noticable vibration while driving at 70 mph. He had to use the big bulky external clip on weights to get it to work.
Two questions. Is this something that is repairable? I've heard people say that bent rims can be straightened.
The other question, since I can only slightly feel it at 70 mph but it is there, could I just let it be since they will only be on the car for 4 months out of the year?
Any concerns with problems down the road like wheel bearings or other components?
Thank you
Mark
