Gary, replacement tire advice
Gary, for 1997 Audi A4 quattro 2.8 5MT, time to replace the noisy and hard to balance Avons. I want good wet and dry grip, steering feel, and braking performance, with reasonable noise levels.
Three seasons only, I have separate wheels for winter. I'll stick with 205/55-16H for now.
TR testers and customer reviews really like Michelin Primacy MXV4 and Bridgestone Turanza Serenity. I'm leaning toward the Michelins, am I on the right track? Or are the Bridgestones superior for this use?
My buddy will be needing the same size for a 2007 Jetta, would the same advice apply there?

For three season use I'd lean towards the Serenity. The Primacy MXV4 has the advantage in snow traction, but I've had slightly better experience with wet and dry grip, low noise and steering response with the Serenity.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR8&url=/tires/index.jsp">Tires</a></li></ul>
