Is there a tire which would work well year-round as a track tire in the Pacfic Northwest?
I know I don't want to run winter tires on the track, even on a cool day: I'm sure they'd be way too soft. My summer wheels are 18's, and they rub under trail braking. I know that rolling my fenders and using these on hot days is an option, but I'm not all that excited about the idea of tracking the 18's.
So is there a single tire which would give decent track performance in everything from 90 degree sunshine to 45 degree rain? Or am I pretty much forged to run the summer wheels on hot days and put something more suited for cool weather on my track wheels?
I ended up with the Goodyear F1 All Seasons. I have not pushed them much yet but, they did well when I did. They were not as sticky as the PZero Rossos I had. But the Rossos were not a winter tire by any means. Wet they were OK and dry they were great.
I have no personal experience with either tire in the winter though, what I stated above is in reference to Tire Rack and Consumer Reports reviews that I read through.
The RE01Rs I have on my summer wheels are great, and I can see myself getting the same for my tack wheels. However, I understand that the RE01R isn't all that great at ejecting water. But if those are good, I'll put 'em on my track wheels -- they've been great on my on my summer wheels. I'm just wondering if there's something better.

There are lots of pure, summer UHP tires that shed water very very well. For instance the goodyear GSD3. Sheds water like a duck.
My Michelin PSribs shed water well, too.
