Default Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions

I've been reading reviews on Tire rack and these seem to come up the highest in reviews etc:

Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions 225/50.

I'm looking to swap out the summer performance tires on my 09 TT Coupe Quatro I have on order in a few months .... I plan to have these tires on year round, alot of rain, a few days of snow and my daily driver.

Anyone not recommend these or know of a better high performance all season tire?

Default One month experience is excellent so far, would buy them again...

Pulled my 255/40/19" Yoko Advan S.4. off for 245/45/18" RE960's. They are both just as Tire Rack's survey & tests indicate. Great tires. Waiting for snow to measure the winter capabilities of the 960's. The handling characteristics of either of these 2 tires in dry or wet conditions is superb IMHO. The 18"s obviously ride better & the 960's are quieter (partly due to size change I imagine too).

Default I'm quite happy with mine, but I've also only had them for about a month

no experience in snow yet, but I'm not expecting them to perform miracles either.

Default Just purchased the Toyo Proxie 4's and so far they are terrific

Of course any tire would seem great next to the OEM Perelli P6's that came with the car. The first thing I noticed is how much quieter they are and the increased ride comfort. You won't find reviews on Tire Rack because they don't carry them. I have a guy I trust changing tires at my local Les Schwab around the corner. I tried them a little wider to see if it helps with lessening curb rash. Now running 235,45,17 on my stock winter rims. These tires are terrific in the rain. We don't get much snow here in Portland.

Default 960s were pretty good, btu i got 6-7 bad ones in a row.

meaning hop, excessive roadforce, tread wiggle, etc. Unusual I hope, btu quite a bad experience.

Fairly soft, btu stuck well if you were not pushing hard.

I replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport A/s and they are significantly better w/r/t steering response. Oh yea, and they are round.

Default I dont know what else to call it - tread molding flaw such that...

the tread dos nto hop, but rather moves side to side. It wiggles.

Default Went from GY F1 GSD3 to RE960 A/S

In mild TX climate, here are my impressions on my B6 A4 3.0qm. Slightly quieter tire than the GSD3, but not by much. Some flat spotting on colder mornings. RE960 seems to take bumps in the road much stiffer than the GSD3 did. RE960 not near as much confidence in the rain as the GSD3, but still quite good. GSD3 were sick in the rain. GSD3 seemed to work well even into the upper 30 degree temperatures. When I have to do it again I would likely go back to the GSD3's in my climate, or perhaps the new F1 Asymetric.
