Why go with 20s when you can jack it up and do some blang blang 24s!?

OK - joke over. 20" rims on that car really does not offer you much. There is no performance gain and on some Audis looks terrible which is probably what you are aiming to do. Most of us on Audiworld are more interested in the gains mods make to give us better performing cars.

I would spend some time on the A6 forum and see what people have done. You can go to the Tire Rack as they have plenty of wheels and a website that shows you what those wheels look like on your car.

If you have not purchased winter tires and wheels for your car - I urge you to do so soon before the tires supply diminishes.

Default Well, I'm sure you CAN make it fit .... but why?

Larger wheels will clear brakes. You simply need to make the tire smaller and smaller to maintan the same, or a similar, OD. That's the rub with all these bling-y things - you wind up with all wheel and no tire.

The mass goes up
Your acceleration goes down
ride gets worse
Tire cannto protect the wheel, so wheels get bent, and then vibrate

and the list goes on.

Frankly, on my S6 ( S mind you) I went from factory 17s to 16s. very wide light 16s.

now most feel i'm a bit retro. or a lot retro, but certainly 17s are about the largest you really want. After that you gain weight, and risk damage. Plus the ride sux.

The ideal 17" wheel is 17" x 8" x -35mm offset; 5 x 112; 14mm bolts.

But if you really want them, remember these important words: D=2*r; R=wheel/2+width*aspect ratio ( remember to convert millimeters to inches!); C= 2*pi*r. The rest is up to Mr. Excel.

20s are for wussies. Go for 25s and skip the tires.

Default Maybe 20" but 19" will, 18" is a good compromise...

20" will ride very harshly & you will risk both wheel & tire damage. The 19" will work out OK & look good. I have found the 18" to work best for me, the ride is good, they handle way better than 16 or 17" & they still look distinctive. The bigger wheel & lesser tire sidewall without doubt provide better handling. Keep in mind too the bigger inside diameter tires cost more money. Tire Rack & Discount Tire have a whole lot of options that you can view on your car model. It is not always about the ride, style points count too.
