Default pros and cons of this harness bar? if you have the Stable Energies bar, what belts are you using?

Is there a place to mount the 5th belt? I'm not sure I like the idea of the 5th belt with the stock seat since you can't go straight down. But, is having that 5th belt still better than not having it there at all? When I use my current 4-point, it tends to ride-up on me, which is why I often using the 3-point over it and leave the 4-point a little loose. I just don't feel this is the safest method and want something better.

http://stable-energies.com/prodinfo.asp?number=GBA4</a

Default I run with one. Pro's and cons to numerous for me to discuss today. I run with ..

a Diest 5 point harness. The fifth point I use mostly to keep the harness down where it needs to be. I have found that without one the shoulder harness pulls the lap belts way to high.

Is that a rear strut tower bar that doubles as a harness bar?

Default I wouldn't run a 5, 6, 7 pt harness with stock seats.

I would only use harnesses designed specifically to run with stock seats. With normal harnesses, the length that the sub-belt runs with a stock seat is too much and the risk of submarining is high.

but, isn't the risk even higher with a 4pt? I find my 4pt already riding up too high.

I don't like the idea of the belts being that long.

Default I'm no expert but I'd still choose a properly mounted 4pt over an improperly mounted 5 pt.

A 5 pt with stock seats might FEEL good because there's tension on the sub belt when you are just sitting in the car, but in a collision, there's going to be a lot of slack created from the long length that the sub belt runs and the seat cushion compressing.

From Schroth's claims, 4pt harness are designed not to submarine. For instance the lapbelts will tie into the oem anchor points so that the oem pretensioner helps. Also the location where the shoulder harness attaches to the lapbelt rather than the camlock of a 5pt harness.

See their propaganda video :P here:

Video of impact with 4pt harness

Default Do you tighten the waist belt first?

I leave my shoulder straps loose while I crank down the waist straps as tight as I can stand, and then I do the shoulders. That seems to keep them low on my hips.
