Default A Wet World Challenge at Mosport Makes for Exciting Racing *RACE RESULTS INSIDE*

Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada (September 3, 2006) STaSIS Motorsports and Chip Herr took the top spot on the podium for the second race in a row at the Grand Prix of Mosport. In a hard-fought race, Herr started from the pole but battled fierce competition, relinquishing the lead twice before taking the lead for good with four laps to go. It was a wet session, and the all-wheel drive on Herr's #17 STaSIS/Clear Capital /Agincourt Autohaus Audi A4 served him well.

The green flag fell with the cars in single file after another competitor blew his engine on the parade lap. Herr took the conservative line, not fighting for the first corner on the first lap. Randy Pobst exited turn one in the lead but Herr quickly demonstrated his dominance, passing for the lead on lap 3. On the lap 13 restart, Herr found himself in third, behind the Acuras of Davis and Kleinubing. After a furious 6 lap battle, the #17 STaSIS/Clear Capital/Agincourt Autohaus Audi A4 surpassed Kleinubing for 2nd and two laps later was back out in front. From there, Herr ran a succession of fastest race laps and was never again challenged for the lead. The fastest lap of the race was a rain-slowed 1:42.467 set by Herr.

After the race, STaSIS Motorsports president Paul Lambert said, "I can't say enough about what a team effort this was. We had great support from Agincourt Autohaus, the crew was able to set the car up for changing conditions, and during the race Chip didn't panic when he got passed and did what he needed to do to get to the top of the podium."

STaSIS rookie Jeff Courtney maintained his Piloti SPEED Touring Car Rookie of the Year lead with a gutsy drive after starting in the pit lane after stalling on the formation lap. Starting from the back of the field, Courtney steadily worked his way through the rain-soaked 26-car field to finish ninth. His drive with his #99 STaSIS Kenda/MPI Coin/Karavan Trailer Audi A4 was crucial to his Rookie of the Year plans as his two closest rookie competitors both finished in the top 10.

"Fast" Freddy Baker in the #18 STaSIS Fred Baker Audi A4 started strong from the fourteenth position on the grid and moved to ninth by lap 3. A mechanical issue caused by water forced Baker to the pit during lap 6. After leaving the pits, Baker worked his way to eighteenth.

So how tall is Chip? He looks like he is 5'1". That weight difference is helpful.

Default The weight of the cars is done with the driver in it so no real advantage unless you have a 400lb

guy driving and you can get the car to your minimum weight.

Default Thanks. That makes sense. For Mosport it looked like Chip was running +30lbs...

Based on his victory, how much weight do you think they will make you add for the next race?

BTW, I am looking forward to you guys kicking *** at Laguna again just like last year. Good luck.

Default I'm 5'9" and he's shorter than me. (So you have a 7" window there).

he reminded me of Leonardo DiCaprio w/ the hat on. Hat off, w/ the spikey hair, not so much. Heh.
