Will cryogenic treatment reduce cracking on cross-drilled rotors? Braking Qs.
A buddy who does time trials in his Benz C32 has recurring problems with cracking on the rotor surface. Oddly, I've had no such issues with mine, although he runs R-compounds and is probably getting more stopping power to the ground.
Will cryogenic treatment help? I know that it would generally harden the surface, but that could work against it.
Also, he's asked if there is a technique that he should use to reduce heat build up in his rotors. My only (amateur) advice was that he should make an effort to use brakes hard and for the shortest possible period (e.g. don't drag the brake). Any other ideas?

Even something similar to the <a href="http://www.dietersmotorsports.com/tech/2002/4-2002.htm">Porsche Deflectors</a> that hang from an A-arm and divert air to the rotor would be a big help.
