If you were gonna buy a sub 10k Audi and turn it into a track car what would you pick?

I am really considering doing this. Getting an Audi, possibly an B5 A4 stripping the interior. Racing seats maybe leave some of the electrics behind, but otherwise go to town R compounds etc...

Yes Quattro is a requirement

Any thoughts?

Find a 5000 Quattro. They can be made to get around the track pretty well.

B5 A4 1.8t hands down.... best aftermarket options and pretty nice chassis.

A '92-'95 325i.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

That's what I might do next...pick up a 325 for about $2000 and only do agressive maintenance. The only 'mods' will be stripped interior and wiring harness and a cage.

If I were tracking an audi, I'd probably go with a 4000CS. I really think you'd be challenged to get a FWD A4 below 3000lbs muchless a quattro A4.

What is the lightest track prepped A4 on record (no composite panels)?
