DeWalt cordless impact wrench: can anyone confirm that...
Are there alternatives that I should also consider in the $250-$300 range? I've seen Mikita and Milwaukee mentioned as well.
Sadly, this is what I'm asking for as my wedding gift from my bride to be ;^) She's getting diamonds, and I want a power tool...
i think some of the lower models are variable speed but they dont have as much torque...
i have one and it is great! it has some serious torque...usually when i'm putting wheels on, i run it until the hammer starts to hit, then relase the trigger...it has absolutely no problem breaking nuts loose...
mine has gotten a ton of use and is probably one of the best/most used tools i have...i swap wheels/tires several times a day at race weekends and have never had a problem with it...
I haven't used many other ones, but the craftsman does have a variable speed trigger, and gives you a really precise degree of control over the speed. I feel totally comfortable using it even to thread my lug bolts.
The other thing you should get is a Torque Stick; get one matched to your wheel torque, and it gets it pretty close, automatically. I always doublecheck it with a real torque wrench.
