For Immediate Release

STaSIS Motorsports prepares for the final round of the SPEED World Challenge Touring Car series held at Laguna Seca Raceway after a strong finish at Road Atlanta.

After qualifying in 5 th position at Road Atlanta Chip Herr launched his #17 Nalley Audi/Clear Capital/STaSIS Audi A4 from the third row into the lead by Turn One. Herr eventually was shuffled back to 3 rd position by the second lap where he found himself in a heated battle for 2 nd . Herr finally won the battle in lap 20 moving into 2 nd where he stayed to finish with his 4 th podium of the year.

STaSIS Motorsports rookie Jeff Courtney continues to hold his Piloti SPEED Touring Car Rookie of the Year lead. Courtney qualified 14 th , but got a good start and jumped to 9 th by the end of lap 1. Courtney had a strong drive working his #99 Kenda/MPI Coin/Karavan Trailer/STaSIS Audi A4 up to 7 th position by lap 21. At that point Courtney developed a mechanical issue, but gamely held on to finish in 10 th position in the 27 lap race. That finish left Courtney in 8 th in the overall driver standings and with a 27 point lead in the rookie standings with one race to go. A finish of 15 th or higher at Laguna Seca and Courtney will be the Piloti SPEED Touring Car Rookie of the Year.

"Fast" Freddy Baker in the #18 STaSIS Fred Baker Audi/STaSIS Audi A4 qualified 20 th and had a nice run going working his way to 14 th by lap 13. Baker looked to be heading toward to top 10 finish, but an on track incident forced an early retirement.

STaSIS Motorsports moves on to round 10 of the SPEED World Challenge Touring Car series at Laguna Seca. The Monterey California track has traditionally been a strong venue for the all wheel drive Audi A4 quattro's of STaSIS Motorsports winning in 2003 and 2005.

Chip Herr's last visit to the facility was earlier this year in a Mazda Miata Spec Racer where he took the opening round of the MX-5 Cup race. The track has been one of Chip's favorite in past events. " The elevation changes and difficulty of the track makes it very challenging which I really like" commented Herr.

Jeff Courtney, the point leader in the Piloti Rookie of the Year standings is looking to lock up the title in the final round of SPEED World Challenge Touring Car. Jeff commented," It has been a very good year so far and the whole team has worked extremely hard to get here. I am looking forward to hopefully finishing the season strong"

"Fast" Freddy Baker returns to Laguna Seca after starting in the 13th and pushing his way up for a top ten finish. By lap 8 Baker was in the 9 th spot and on lap 16 he knocked off 2 more competitors to bring the No 18 Fred Baker Audi A4 to finish in 7th.

STaSIS Motorsports would also like to thank the sponsors that make our program what it is today. If you get an opportunity to support these fine companies please do so.
