Spectacular Speed GT ending (spoiler inside)!!!

I'm so glad I decided to try watching from the main grandstands for the GT race today.
Randy Pobst comes out of the last corner perfectly to make a run at Ricardo Imery for a drag race down to the finishline, where Randy ekes out a a photo-finish win. i've never personally seen a finish anywhere near that close!

Chip did OK. (Spoiler inside)

He ended up fifth but in third for the season in the drivers championship.

Oh, but they did!

They did have their share of bad luck though. Overall I think it was a terrific season for them... IMO, they entered the season as leaders of the second-tier teams and closed it as one of the leaders of the first-tier teams. I can't remember that kind of growth coming from any of the other programs that compete in WCTC, not in the same year anyways.

I figured the SCCA messed with them again. For a non-factory supported effort, I agree they have done dang good. Wish some of that AoA $$ would come their way to help out next year. Nice shot of their car on the first pages of the new Quattro Quarterly.

And...(another spoiler)

Jeff Courtney got VERY lucky and won the rookie of the year by 2 points. He DNF'd the race, but the Neon guy could have EASILY one ROTY if he was not penalized. HUGE mistake on his part. Congrats to Jeff and the whole Stasis team.

Yeah I think it was a tremendous season for Chip

at this weekend's race, it seemed his car was a little loose and kept bobbling any time he tried to put a move on Kleinubing for 4th.
Congrats to Courtney for RotY honors too.
