Poll: What are your favorite US based race series and what about them attracts you?
Runner up would be ALMS...always some crazy, masterful passes because speed differential with 4 classes of cars sharing the track.
other US series i like are speed WC-GT, alms, and rolex/GAC (although i tire of seeing the wreck-fests at most GAC races)
amatuer: bmwcca and nasa gts challenge, because thats what i race in, lol
Appeal is that it's young talented drivers racing equal cars to try and carve out a career. Though it gets annoying that they seem to be only able to get a handfull of green flag laps, it's still fun to watch.
There's a LOT of dirt-car/oval racing in the US and IMHO that's where the majority of pro racing is in the US. Being a road racer, it's easy to forget those guys but every time I'm in a race shop sharing space with some Midget or Sprint car...their preparation and finish is amazing.
I like the off-season with V8 supercar coverage...that is an awesome series to watch and they have some crazy tracks.
I hate the contrived SCCA pro classes...I'd rather see a fully spec car OR classes that reflect the actual capabilities of cars rather than artificially limiting them.
SWC Touring is fun to watch too - lots of great on track dicing - but it's just not quite as exciting watching boxy 4-bangers race around a lot slower.

My son was Tony Stewart for Halloween. Practically no one here in Massachusetts recognized that he was wearing a racing suit. Most called him "Home Depot Guy" and I think they just figured he was dressing up like an overzealous Home Depot worker.
I need to consider moving to North Carolina.
