How cool would this be?
Audi would likely do far better than the others, initially, as they would only jump in (or buy a team) when ready and fully prepared.
But yah, they wouldn't be winning races any time soon after joining, but nobody really has in the past, recent years and it would not expected by anyone but yo-yo's.
Toyota, while hyper funded, finished second in points in 2004, only what, four years in?

DTM seems to get Audi decent exposure, although I think most smart car buyers know that it does not reflect on Audi's technology since the design formula is so strictly regulated (like NASCAR).
It would be nice if Audi could develop a stock-based program similar to what BMW has done with the M3 and Porsche with the 911. When you see those cars running in ALMS, FIA and Grand Am, it really does send a message. Maybe the new R8 will get that kind of attention.
