Default Calling all chipped 1.8T owners..question

I have a '99 1.8TQMS with a neuspeed chip. I am getting a bit of a surging under WOT. Did you owners, with chips, replace the diverter valve and fuel pressure regulator along with your chips? Is this something MANDATORY when doing a chip conversion? Thanks

Default Are you running with compressor?

That could possibly be a cause and/or clogged plugs. Run only 93+ fuel.

Only thing I changed was my DV. Your DV shouldn't be the problem off the line. If anything in between shifts is when you should be leaking (noticably).

No, just stock 1.8T with the Neuspeed chip. Thanks for the info, I'll pull the plugs tomorrow and check them.

Default test it

(Example) After you drop it into 4th and mash the pedal (WOT) you let off the gas and immediatly get right back on(WOT). You will not pull as hard. If you pay real close attention you will feel the difference. If you have a boost gauge you will see it fluttering usaully w/ in 2psi incriments. It flutters b/c your bpv spring is not able to control the flap (open/close) due to the pressure fluctuation. You could also crack the stock housing it if you get sick boost spikes in the 20+ psi range. (talk to the big turbo guys) There is too much pressure for the stock unit. I might need to upgrade from the mcbpv and cop a PES unit for myself b/c I have seen fluttering before even with this one.

You have the intake kit right?

yea I have the intake and a new BPV .. but i think my BPV is a problem

Default it should be simple to diagnose the problem then

do the test (mentioned in above post) and if you hear leakage (ONLY at wot) then you need a new bpv. Even if you drive the car like a diplomat you'll need a new bpv before 20-5k guaranteed b/c of the chip. You can get by w/ a cracked one but you'll only be hindering your car's power.

Default I have the.8bar Neuspeed, I didn't replace anything excpet for the chip - mine runs fine.

You should not have to replace any of those things, I was thinking that maybe they gave you the wrong program for your cars ECU, unless something else is wrong.
