Anyone have experience with Mintex brake upgrade?
My A4 1.8Tqms has 30K miles and the brakes are fine, but I'm considering upgrading ($300) to Mintex red box street pads front and rear, stainless steel brake lines, and AP racing fluid. This is APR's "Stage I" minus the Brembo rotors. I figure the rotors are OK until the next brake job. Anyone running this set up? Do I have to have the rotors turned with new pads? Are the Brembo slotted rotors in the stock size worth $300 more?

30K and your breaks are ok!? Have you ever changed the pads?
Under normal conditions your pads should be gone at 30K. The problem is so are the rotors. Stock rotors are not meant to go much pass 30K. Then again your 30K may be mostly hwy. If your rotors are ok they *will* need to be resurfaced.
I would replace the rotors. If you are low on funds, skip the SS lines and break fluid for now. You can always do that later. It'll save you the install time.
Also have you looked at Zimmerman x-drilled ? I like cross drilled better than slotted.<ul><li><a href="http://www.germanautoparts.com/">http://www.germanautoparts.com/</a</li></ul>
