Default Kinda OT...I just bought a Nikon Coolpix 880 and it only comes with 8 Megs which is weak...

so I need some more Compact Flash memory...I'm looking at getting 64 Megs or 128 Megs. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a place which had kick *** prices.

I've tried www.pricescan.com and have found some decent prices...but I figured I'd try here with all the artsy types I'm sure there are plenty of digital photography buffs here.

BTW - Did you know they have Compact Flash cards...not IBM Microdrive...but Flash cards which are up to on Gig!!! Solid State and 1 Gig...I'm sure the memory is slow as all hell...but that's a lot of stuff in such a small place.

James R.

Default Here's a questionable source...

avcpan@hotmail.com
Alexandru Constantin
Paypal shows his account is unverified.

I bought a 128mb Sandisk chip from him back in July for my Nikon 990 for $225 shipped. He delivered as promised, brand new, no problems at all. Price should be less now. At the time the eBay auctions were selling this chip for $210-$240 plus shipping.

Enjoy your camera!

try www.bhphotovideo.com

I just ordered a Coolpix 880 from them and some other accessories. From my research, they have the lowest prices I've found!

Let me know how the camera behaves! Just so that I know what to expect!

Default I hope you're kidding...the 880 is a newer camera than the flagship 990 most of the circuitry was

copied from the 990, the 990 can use huge Compact Flash Cards. You know they supposedly use the same CCD as well. The primary difference is optics which are only slightly different...and some firmware stuff. In all honesty the 880 is a better camera for those who don't want to have to fiddle around a lot to take a good pic...but don't be fooled you can put the camera into fully manual mode and rough it with 990 owners too.

I liked the 880 better than the 990 cause I don't really dig the swivel lens...I could see where it might be better...but overall I felt it made the camera feel a little less solid. Besides...the 880 is more compact...and that I appreciate as well. Heck anything will be better than my current digicam...Minolta Dimage V 640x480 yeah baby yeah.

James R.

Default BTW - You got a decent price...but I only paid $526 which is a good savings over $599

Dont forget you NEED the Lithium Ion Batt...and Charger...which come to over $100 making this camera considerably more expensive than it looks.

Default that compact flash memory is VERY expensive... that's one of the many reasons I got Sony...

their memory sticks are much cheaper than the compact flash or the scandisc.

Default I use a 64 meg card. At 680X1024 it holds 500+ pics....

How many more pics do you need to hold?? The issue was more about the battery. I purchased an external battery pack( a little larger than a pager) That charges in 4 hours and lasts 2 DAYS!! using ALL the cameras features. The best part is that it was cheaper than buying a second OEM battery.

Here's where I bought mine
