Default Info..

Its kinda hard to get it in there as you have found out. I ended up using a pry bar with some lithium grease. It needs to be lubed anyways.. Just take your time and loosen the housing.

Default got it in...

I was getting pissed and out of ideas, so I decided to screw the bumper shocks back in, to ensure that I was at the right angle. As I was tightening the 7th and final bolt (for some reason, my car didn't have the top right bolt on the right shock? whatever) i heard a pop and it was in. Nice! the idle vibration needs to be taken care of, as it is vibrating hard now, and I have the addition to the mount about loosening the housing...but I left my metric socket set at home (I did this at my parent's house, as they have a 2 car garage) and the housing is 14mm bolts...

but that is ok, because I broke the three way distribution plug for the headlight sprayers, so I have to order that part and install it, meaning I have to remove the bumper again anyway, so who cares. I'll fix the vibration thing then when I have the correct tools.

but yeah, that was a ROYAL pain to get into the housing and on the spindle. I haven't driven it yet (no bumper right now) but I had to stop to make a phone call, so I thought I would update aw...

ahhh... time for a hard cider and some pizza... but not until I get a nice long drive home (1 hour)

Default I can imagine a lift is easier...

I used ramps and a creeper... whatever...

<IMG SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/4670/audrey-snubinstall1.jpg" ALT="">

so I noticed that my entire radiator support is not aligned perfectly, nor is the mount centered for ****, so I have annoying vibration at idle-1400 rpms, again at 2500-2800, again at 4000-4200, and I think that is all. Tomorrows commute is going to be annoying! arg... oh well.

I will remove it all next weekend, recenter the mount, fix my sprayer, align the radiator supports, and aim my headlights. Until then, oh well.

I think I'll also install my boost gauge and my turbo timer as well. We shall see.

Thanks for your help! this was a frustrating install!

but man, the downshifting is SO much nicer. On the expressway into chicago last night, I kept going from 5th to 4th, just to hit it... nice.
