Busy day overall, test drove a bunch of VW'ers, the Acura CL type S, and then the A4. I've been wanting the A4 for well over a year, and now I am financially just about able to afford it. My wife is making me drive serveral other cars out there, just to make sure I really want the A4. (I rushed into my last vehicle and now regret it)

Anyways. It has been almost a year since I last drove an A4, so driving one today boldly reminded me how great this car is, especially after driving all the other cars back to back.

I drove it around 5pm, so I used the headlights this time and saw the interior lighting and dashboard. Wow... a friend had told me how great the A4 lighting/dash was, but that didn't do it justice. During the whole test drive I was sitting there with an ear to ear grin, my wife laughing at me the whole time. What can I say, this car rules.

Down to the details, test drove a '01 A4, 1.8T 5spd, luxury, sport, cold, metallic paint, and of course..Quatrro, with a MSRP of 29840 for a price of 27500. The car had 5600 miles on it (saleman drove it). Invoice is 26739. I think percent over invoice is a little high considering mileage on it.... Yes/no??

Lease agreement offered on this price was 2182.45 out of pocket, 410.79/mo 39 mo./15k/yr.

What do you guys think about this price? (dealership knew little about the 17" wheels to start coming in on a4's too.... Said it wouldn't be available on 1.8T?!?!) Can anyone offer me more info. on this I could take back to dealer?

Also, anyone want to buy my truck? hehe.... gotta get rid of that first.

 

I paid 26,8 for a brand new A4 with 13 miles, 17's come with the 2001.5 sports i think!

 

Also - can someone give me a url or info for A4's residual? (thanks so much)

 

What part of the country are you in? Around here Sacramento they advertise a lease of 295.00 per month for 48 months. The required down was about 3K. I just ordered a 2001.5 with the 17's, also Quattro, cold weather, Bose, Celebration (sunroof ETC) Silver paint. for 27944

If so, ask him to see if he can hook you up with the sales manager of your local Audi dealership. It's much cheaper to buy cars that way, and best of all you don't have to put up with the bull$hit from uneducated car salesmen. I bought mine several weeks ago and the sales manager gave me a super deal that I didn't even have to haggle.

Geez. These dealerships think they can pass along these cars to their salesmen for free (well, almost free), and not pay any consequences. Even though the title has not technically been sold, there's a point where a car ceases to be "new" and becomes "used" from simple wear and tear. I'd say 5,600 miles would definitely qualify.
