Help! How do I attach front licscence plate without drilling holes into bumper? I got pulled over by a facsist cop....

I just got pulled over by some facsist cop in L.A. He gave me a fix-it ticket for having no front license plate, having too dark of a tint on my windows, and having clear taillights. The taillights aren't a problem because I'll just replace them when I bring the car into the police station then change them back again. The tint is unfortunate (and expensive) to get rid of, but I can deal. But I will not drill holes into my front bumper and ruin the look of the spoiler! Any ideas on how to trick the cops and fasten it temporarily, and then take the damned thing off? I was thinking along the lines of suction cups.Please help!

Stock bumper? if it is, get a license plate frame that has two perpendicular extensions. take out the center grill peice on the lower part of the bumper, and drill the screws in from underneath so they are not visible. The cheaper and easier way would be velcro, however if i has a strong adhesive it may ruin the paint, and if it doesnt, the plate may fall off. try what i said the first time.

Affix to inside of windshield, passenger side...

Or you might try using Marine grade silicon sealer/adheasive. Bend the plate to match the curvature of the front bumper and find a license plate frame which will flex and glue the baby onto the bumper. This will get you thru the inspection. The sealer peals off pretty easily, then stick the plate behind the windshield. dark tint in LA is just asking to be hassled repeatedly. you look like a thug.btw, it's really not that cool anymore.

I feel for you, I got a ticket about a month ago for tinted windows and the front plate..This is what I'm going to do:Get suction cups, glue them to the back of the plate. Get a license plate frame (dealer one will do) and glue that on to the plate as well (you can use silicon for this). Get two screws that fit into the top mounting holes of the frame/plate and saw off the threads (with a dremel or something) and glue the heads onto the plate, so they look like they're screwed in. Next attach the plate to the front bumper and position it so that it appears the screws go into the bumper..HTH,Jason

I recall someone posting the CA code for plates at it has a hight limit, so putting it in the windshield probably would not pass the inspection.However, mounting it to the grill temporary might work.Paul
