Well, it finally snowed here in NYC. Or maybe I should say dusted. Anyway, at least there was some ice and snow on the road and the Quattro had its first real workout. The verdict: whoa. It really works (doh!). I couldn't get the car to skid if I tried. I'm passing Jeeps and other SUVs as if they were Yugos stuck in mud. Hahahahahaha. I can't wait for a real snowstorm so I can really drive the Quattro hard. Let's hope that we have a major "dumping" sometime soon. Merry merry to all of you @ the forum and have a great New Year.<p>Rob 1.8 TQT who now knows the Quattro works

Me too!

Had a major ice storm here in Winston-Salem/Clemmons, NC yesterday. Sleet was falling like gravel. I decided to brave the 12 mile trip home about the time that the bad stuff had peaked. Wow! The Quattro was truly amazing! Like you, I could not make it slip, and I was passing the idiots in front of me every chance I got. I have been driving a 4WD vehicle for 10 years, and this thing would drive circles around it.<p>Like Jim H says though, watch those stopping distances. I felt the ABS kick in more than once.

Now it would kick butts if...

Audi comes out with spikes that pop out of the tires or something for added braking ability! Yeah, like the Aston Martin in that James Bond movie!

I have a 97 A4 18t and a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee, both purchased new. To tell the truth, nothing..but nothing stops my Jeep..no matter how deep the snow. The big advantage of my Audi is that it feels much more secure cornering in slippery conditions, due to the lower center of gravity. I feel confident driving either one in bad weather. Each one has it's own advantages and disadvantages, and I drive them with that thought in mind.<p>Happy Holidays to all!!!
