'98 A4 Advant jack points

I'd like to put on snows on our new A4.Where are the safe jack points under the Advant when using a floor jack?

My Audi service department advised me to place the jack under the ridge that runs beneath the doors. Someone else on A4.org provided the same advise. It would appear that in doing so one would crush the ridge but evidently not so. For what its worth our VW sercice department said the same thing as it relates to a 95 GTI we had in the air. My independent service shop placed the hoist arms under my A4 (in front) under the frame, just in 4 or 5 inches from the door and under the suspensiom componets for the rear. For the front lift they used a 2x4 as a jackpad so as not to cut up the undercoating.

Re: '98 A4 Advant jack points: A prior reply to the same question involved routing a 2x4 to slip over the ridge so it would not be crushed.

I took a length of 2x6 and cut a channel in it with a circular saw. The channel is the same dimension as the nylon insert on the end of your car's screw jack. I then cut a piece of 3/4" plywood that wold fit into the "cup" om my floor jack, and affixed it to the 2X6. Seems to work fine so far. Mike

There are four jack points for the front, two for the back(where do you put jack stands?)

The front of the A4 has 2 points per side. One is the ridge and as mentioned you'll need some sort of pad. The other is about 6" inside the ridge. There's a triangular piece of 1/4" steel bolted on to the bottom with 3 bolts. This is quite obviously a jack point though it's not mentioned in the manual.In back the only jack points I can find are the ridge.The big problem is, due to the lack of jack points, where do I put jack stands after having jacked up the car with a floor jack?Anybody?
