Lighter, more efficient and full of high-tech – The new Audi Q7

The new Audi Q7 began its advance sales in March and will arrive at German dealers in June. The 3.0 TDI costs EUR 60,900, the 3.0 TSFI EUR 62,900.

Generous: Standard equipment
The list of standard features is generous. The exterior includes, among other items, 18-inch alloy wheels, a tire pressure loss indicator, xenon plus headlights and LED rear lights, electrically heated and folding exterior mirrors with automatic curb-side function, an electric luggage compartment lid and roof rails.

The interior of the new Audi Q7 offers a front center armrest, a two-zone automatic air conditioning, a start-stop button for the engine, a multifunction leather steering wheel with shift paddles, aluminum door sill trims, LED interior lighting, the electromechanical parking brake, reclining and folding seatbacks in the second row, a partition net and luggage compartment cover. The four Isofix fixtures, the six airbags and the integral head restraint system ensure safety, while the start-stop system reduces fuel consumption.

The driver information system with its large color display, a cruise control system with adjustable limiter, a rear parking system, the Audi drive select dynamic handling system and a light/rain sensor round off the range of comfort & convenience features. The MMI radio plus with Bluetooth interface, Audi music interface and Audi sound system provide entertainment. The hold assist, multicollision brake assist system as well as Audi pre sense basic and Audi pre sense city are powerful safety systems.

Versatile: The options
The range of options is also very diverse. Add-on parts in the vehicle color and the S line exterior package gives the large SUV a personalized touch. Audi will optionally mount wheels 19 to 21 inches in diameter, a tire pressure monitoring system, LED headlights or Matrix LED headlights. The adaptive air suspension – also available in the Sport version – and all-wheel steering are further high-tech options.

If the Q7 is to be used as a companion for sporty leisure, an electrically swivelling trailer coupling (included in the package with the trailer maneuver assist), an electrical load area cover, a rail system with load-securing kit and a reversible mat are also optionally available. The convenience key with gesture control makes everyday operation even more enjoyable.

On board the lighting package and the ambient lighting, the panoramic glass sunroof, power-assisted door closing, the insulating/acoustic glass, the privacy glazing, the heated windshield, roller sunblinds for the rear area, the four-zone automatic air conditioning (also with ionizer on request) and auxiliary heater provide even more comfort. If desired, Audi also installs side airbags in the second row of seats.

There is also a wide choice of seats. It includes electrically adjustable front seats on request with memory function for the driver’s seat or for both front seats, electrically adjustable sport seats in the front, the multi-adjustable customized contour front seats with or without massage function, longitudinally adjustable head restraints, a comfort center armrest and a massage feature in front. The rear bench seat plus with sliding seats lends the interior of the new Q7 even greater versatility, while the third row makes it a seven-seater.

The appealing range of colors and materials includes leather covers in Cricket and Valcona, leather/artificial leather and leather/Alcantara combinations and an Alcantara headlining. For the two-part inlays there are numerous possible combinations. The three leather packages, the S line sport package and the Audi design selection Murillo brown are aimed at especially discerning individualists.

Innovative: Controls & displays
The new Audi Q7 offers an outstanding range of controls and displays in the form of multifunction steering wheels in various styles, a head-up display, the Audi virtual cockpit and the MMI navigation plus with MMI all-in-touch, which brings the online services of Audi connect on board via the hardware module Audi connect. Other infotainment modules are the Audi tablet for the rear seats, the new Audi smartphone interface, the DVD changer, the Audi phone box with wireless charging feature, the standard Bluetooth interface and the digital radio and TV tuner. The Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System and the Bose sound system present the outstanding new technology of 3D sound.

A wide variety: The driver assistance systems
The Audi Q7 offers the currently widest selection of driver assistance systems on the world market. In addition to the standard systems, there are the individual options of Audi active lane assist, Audi side assist, parking system plus, park assist, night vision assistant, reversing camera and camera-based recognition of traffic signs.

A whole series of other systems are bundled in packages. The assistance package Tour includes adaptive cruise control (ACC) with traffic jam assist, Audi active lane assist, predictive efficiency assistant, Audi pre sense front, collision avoidance assist and turn assist. The assistance package City offers parking system plus, reversing camera and Audi side assist, as well as Audi pre sense rear, exit warning and the cross-traffic assist in the rear.

In conjunction with the assistance package City or even separately Audi offers the assistance package Parking, comprising park assist and the 360 degree cameras. Another package is the Technology selection. Its components are the night vision assistant, the head-up display and the Audi virtual cockpit.
