Lightening strikes twice (well make that for a third time) as another AudiWorld reader spots the R8 live-and-in-the-flesh. As reported on Friday, two separate R8’s had been seen doing testing in Arizona. This latest spotting was halfway around the world and placed the R8 a little more in its element near Audi’s sprawling facility in Neckarsulm, Germany.
Captured by Bill (of AudiWorld advertiser Hartmann Wheels), this R8 looked identical to the one seen testing in Tempe last week. Same Gallardo wheels, same silver / black two-tone and same perplexing gap line following the quarter window.
Another unfortunate similarity to last week’s sightings is that no interior photos were possible. The R8 stopped for a few lights in the area and Bill did a good job just to get these photos before it sped off.
According to Bill he was sitting in the Nuvolari Espresso Bar when the R8 just rolled up to a stoplight outside. “I couldn’t get my camera out fast enough!” And we couldn’t be more thankful as we all continue to soak up everything out there until the car actually debuts in Paris at the end of September.
