Audi showed off lots of new for our market this year in New York, including the World Car of the Year Audi A3. The big reveal for 2014 was the A3 TDI in sportback form though still not with quattro.  Audi had the full A3 lineup present, including the new for USA S3.

S3 Sedan – first time the US market will have a full fledged S3. We’re really excited for this car, having recently spent some time with the A3, and finding out how great that car is, the S3 should prove to be unbelievably good.

A3 Cabriolet. We reckon this model should sell very well for folks wanting a smaller cabriolet than the A5.

Speaking of Cabriolets, Audi had the RS 5 Cabrio on display

One interesting addition to the Audi stand was the Q3, a model that has been confirmed for our market. We’ve had the opportunity to drive the Q3, and even though it is based largely on the VW Tiguan, it is 100% Audi, and very nice to drive.

As polar opposites to the small and economical A3 range, Audi also brought out the heavy hitting RS 7, R8, and S8 models.

All in all, we were thrilled to see how much interest there was at the Audi stand this year. As in years past, we went not only on the media only days, but on one of the public days. The Audi stand was positively mobbed the whole time we were there on a Saturday, and the excitement and interest in not only the big fancy models, but the standard models as well, was palpable. It was also very telling that some of Audi’s neighbors in the cavernous Javitz Center were comparatively deserted.

Clearly Audi still has the magic working, and with more models coming along to the US market, we’re sure to see even more sales records smashed, and even more Audi enthusiasts being made every day.
