Race Chip on A4
I just installed the Race Chip Chiptuning GmbH entry level chip on my A4.
The chip is made in Germany and sold all over the world apparently. The Race Chip internet ads are enticing and depending on how much you wish to spend improvements in power are quoted at UP TO 30%, but starting at 20%, 25% and 30%. I picked the 20% chip / device.
It installed in about 20 minutes. I was then afraid to start the car. But getting my courage up turned the key. I did not get any error messages or codes or warnings like "Run for your Life" or anything like that. I have been driving the car all day and can can say that the chip does provide a nice kick up in performance. Although I have no way to measure the effect, I guess the increase in performance is probably 12-15%.
So, it is an easy install and does perform.
