SQ5 auto Brake in Reverse

SQ5 auto Brake in Reverse
just encountered this a second time. when I was reversing into a spot very slowly the car auto braked.
I dont think hunk it was pre sense because the message did not show up. When the car auto brakes it made this loud grunt sound where I thought I hit something or something it me. But it was just the brake engaged.
Anyone encountered this before?

yes this happened to me, once so far, exact same problem and caused a scene at the gas station... I was not close to hitting anything and it scared me as well.
VERY annoying... hasn't happened since so I'm not sure if I was closer than I thought but certainly wasn't close enough to need auto braking.... I can't stand this feature, I've been backing into tight spots for 30 years and I think I can do it without the car deciding to brake for me lol.

I've had it happen several times when in reverse while parallel parking. I've had my '18 SQ5 for 10 months or so. It always makes a metal on metal kind of sound along with the abrupt stop. Every time my initial reaction is that I must have just hit something invisible.

I have a similar thread... it happened to me twice today for no reason and it’s betond frustrating. I don’t want to retype the whole situation again but please Audi, fix this or disable it. The car keeps stopping me for no reason, can I decide when to stop when backing up please? I’m fed up with this non sense so stupid. It’s causing more issues than it’s solving period. Just missing red sirens and flags to complete this annoying process

It's just their horrible collision avoidance system which I believe is tied to presence. Backing up in this vehicle is always an adventure. Try backing up the vehicle from a driveway into a busy street, that crap is bananas. If you're moving, say so you can actually get far enough to see said street, it will constantly brake as cars go by. As far as I'm concerned this system is broken. These systems only work if you never know it's there, but this system constantly reminds you otherwise.
