Default -=MSAC 14hr lock-in update=-

So I've escaped the lock-in at the garage, and smuggled out these pics.

All three of us ridin' high:

I just left, and this is how far he's gotten:

Looks like he'll make the 14hr deadline....no sweat.

And in other news....this is a nasty nasty control arm ball joint. Go check your boots!!!

And of course, the carbon fibre driveshaft, found only on the '97s :-)

Now who's getting up for soccer at 6:30?? :-)

Andy

Default Will not finish tonight. In case you missed it(and I don't see how) trans front main seal leaking.

Clutch not worn out(still ruined, soaked in gear oil.) I was wondering why it acted so different 'n every other car I've been in with a slipping clutch. I just put it off as some quattro idiosyncrasy. The V6 trans removal sucks in two respects. Two down pipes and two secondary O2 sensors with 4' of cable that they lovingly routed over the top of the trans in such a way as to make it very tedious to undo.Took 4.5 hours from the time I got there till it hit the ground(one hour was up on the lift with a fan blowing under it to cool it off.)I figure 6 to 6.5 for the whole job. If I had to do it again,I could shave an hour or two off the time because I'd know what to expect.
I'll have to try and find the seal in the morning. It turns out that 34 different Audi models,7 different Porsche models, and one VW use the same seal. So the odds are with me.Guess which VW model it is.

Default Didn't need him. It turns out German Transaxle was wrong. They said it was 170lbs. Not even close.

So he didn't have to lay under it. He got a lot done to his car tonight. Lifts are nice, very nice.

I didn't know we ('97 A4s) have carbon drive shafts. That's cool!
